EIL Program organized two special hybrid talks on “How Technology is Reshaping the Future of Listening in L2 Teaching and Learning” and “Curriculum Design and Revision”
In the month of June, the English as an International Language (EIL) Program, an interdisciplinary/international program of Chulalongkorn University Graduate School, organized two special hybrid talks by invited guest speakers from overseas.
On June 19, 2024, Professor Jonathan Newton from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand gave a talk on “How Technology is Reshaping the Future of Listening in L2 Teaching and Learning.” The talk effectively enabled student teachers, teacher trainees, and practitioners and educators to keep abreast with new technologies that could be utilized to help English as a second/foreign language learners master their listening skills.

On June 26, 2024, Professor Donna Brinton, UCLA, gave a talk entitled “Curriculum Design and Revision.” It was a comprehensive talk that benefited teachers who wish to develop their own curriculum and teaching materials, with practical and easy to follow presentation on curriculum standards that are being in use worldwide, followed by key components necessary when a curriculum, course syllabus, and materials are developed. This talk was conducted in partnership with the Regional English Language Office, the United States Embassy, Bangkok, Thailand.

Both talks were attended by approximately 50 participants, including EIL students, EIL and CULI faculty members, and the general public.
