Short introduction
The graduate programs in pharmaceutical care were established to produce graduates in the areas of pharmaceutical care, clinical sciences, pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research, and laboratory based/translational research particularly in the areas of kinetics/dynamics, genomics experimental research, health education, and hospital pharmacy administration. Each faculty member is dedicated to the growth of the profession of pharmacy and the cultivation of the graduate students within their areas of practice and specialization. The programs provide training in delivery of health care to patients with emphasizing on research related to pharmaceutical issues and pharmacy practice. After completion of the programs, graduates will become an independent providers of patient care and be able to generate research related to his/her community needs. The goals of Ph.D programs in pharmaceutical care are to develop competent clinical pharmacists who are drug experts and possess the ability to generate, interpret, disseminate knowledge base in pharmacotherapy. This would include the ability to identify, design, implement, monitor, modify, and recommend approaches, systems, policies, and procedures in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to optimize holistic health care and ultimately improve the quality of care to the patients.
