Short introduction
This Higher Graduate Diploma in Orthodontics includes the seminar of the advanced knowledge and techniques in orthodontics in the major and the more complicated kinds of different types of malocclusion. The students would give the treatments to the patients in the clinical practice for the difficult removable cases and the fixed appliance cases including those with multidisciplinary basis. The cases would involve the growing children with skeletal discrepancy, the adults with dentofacial anomaly who may need the orthognathic surgery and the cleft lip and palate patients.
This master program in Orthodontics includes the lecture of the basic knowledge in orthodontics, the typodont course to enhance the students to practice wire bending for the Edgewise technique and to observe the tooth movement in the simulated cases of the patients in the laboratory preparation in the major kinds of different types of malocclusion. Further, the students would have an opportunity in the clinical practice for not only the removable but also the fixed appliances in various techniques. The cases would involve the growing and the adult patients who may need the orthognathic surgery. The seminar would be presented by each student in the basic or the general applied topics in orthodontics. The students must conduct the research under supervision of the staff advisors.
